About Me
Hi, I'm Bram and I'm a software engineer from the Netherlands, currently residing in Colombia! 🇨🇴
About my work
Since 1999, I have been continuously working in various areas of the software industry. After getting a degree I never stopped learning, and got to teach students for a few years. Programming had been my hobby for a long time and since 2009 I have been doing it professionally. My company Colmena focuses on consultancy, education and building developer tooling.
Want to work with me? Please get in touch using the contact form or send me an email at work@beeman.dev.
About my travels
In 2015 I got hired by a startup that was remote-only. It gave me the change to follow a dream I had for long, travel the world. In that year I emigrated from The Netherlands and have since visited around 20 countries.
About Open Source
Soon after I started working in 1999, I got introduced to Linux by a colleague and since that moment I've been interested in Open Source Software in general. After a few years of just using Free and Open Source Software I started to actively contribute to OSS projects around 2015. If you want to show your support please consider sponsoring me.
About Code Your Future Colombia
Code Your Future Colombia (CYFCO) is a project I started in 2018. The aim is to change the lives of underprivileged people in Colombia by lending our privileges to them. In 2019 our first 9 students graduated and the majority of our graduates currently work as a software developer! You can read the full history here. We are always looking for mentors and sponsors! If you're interested, please get in touch.
